Germany is calling!

No, that isn’t the start line to a Eurovision post. Something (I think) more exciting – I’m off to Germany again! I’ve managed to get a bit of time off work, and so my boyfriend and I are off for a few days to Germany. The plan at the moment is to spend a few days in Berlin, before heading down to Cologne where I’d like to see the cathedral and any Christmas markets they’ve got there. After we’ve been in Cologne for a couple of days, we’re going to head over to Belgium to spend some time in Brussels, and maybe Bruges too.

I’m very excited by these plans, and although the only thing we’ve done is book our flight to Berlin, it’s cemented the fact that we are going! It’s a little over a month until we fly to Berlin, and we have yet to book any accommodation, or any further travel. We’ve got a way to get there, just not a way to get home yet.

We’re hoping to shake it up a bit, and although we’re flying to Berlin, we’ll only be getting the train from then on. I’ve not taken a long distance train in another country before, or indeed in this country. So that’s going to be a new experience for me, and I’ll be able to cross another country off my to-do list too!

And now for the fun part, doing a bit of research to see what’s good to do in the four places we’ll be visiting. If we can fit the time in, I’d also like to spend a day in Ypres as it’s the 100 year anniversary of World War One.

Any tips of places to stay, things to do or sights to see will be greatly appreciated!
