Ben’s Cookies

March 8, 2015

In this world there are cookies, and then there are Ben’s Cookies. Located in several cities across England, with a number of shops in London (thankfully!), there are plenty of opportunities to sample the delights on offer in store.

Each shop I’ve been to – maybe four? – has been more of a stall than a shop, in that you can fit maybe two people in the shop at a time. The brand is so popular, that when I visited the Oxford Street shop yesterday, it was the first time I’ve ever not had to queue!

My love affair with these cookies began a few years ago while I was at uni. I was on a trip into London and stumbled across the cookie shop. I’m not usually a great lover of cookies, because sometimes they can be really buttery and leave a weird butter-film in your mouth, or they’re really dry and basically just a fancy biscuit. Nevertheless, I opted for a white chocolate cookie from Ben’s, and I have been hooked ever since!

In fact, as I was on the train home yesterday, a lady sitting opposite me on the tube was finishing off a cookie from Ben’s, and there was a moment of mutual Ben’s Cookies love when she spotted my bag.

There are so many flavours on offer, from the standard milk chocolate, white chocolate, oatmeal and raisin, to some more fancy flavours including white chocolate and cranberry (my favourite if you’re offering!), orange and milk chocolate, and peanut butter. The cookies from Ben’s have actual chocolate chunks in them – there’s no searching for a piece of chocolate! – and even if you save your cookie for the next day, it still melts in your mouth as if you’d just bought it.

I’d definitely recommend trying a cookie from Ben’s if you find a shop, and I’d love to hear what you think!

Top Tips

  • The cookies are sold by weight, not per cookie.
  • If you’re in a group, it’s definitely worth opting for a box to save money.
  • One cookie could easily cover lunch – they’re very filling!
  • Not every shop sells every flavour, though most do!

You can locate a shop on the website, or just check out the flavours on offer!

Yes yes yes! I also love the white chocolate Ben’s cookie; I had one yesterday in fact and it was as incredible as ever. So, so, so melt-in-your-mouth delicious!
