The rose window of any cathedral is always a big highlight – the size alone is impressive, but when you look at it in more detail the stories told in each window are incredible. The best rose window I’ve seen so far was in Notre Dame in Paris, but on my recent trip to St Albans Cathedral, England I was stunned to find an equally impressive rose window in a much less visited church.
And so, when I stumbled across the gift shop, I had to grab a postcard of the window. Unfortunately, while there were several postcards in the shop, most of them did the window no justice. You couldn’t make out the pictures on some, and the window just looked like it had random colours of glass in it. I eventually spotted this one, and while it wasn’t the funky shapes the others were, I felt like it had the best picture of the rose window on it, and it just had to be the one!
