Paris, Postcards

Postcards from…Paris

The postcard collection is growing!

These postcards came to me courtesy of my parents, who just enjoyed their first visit to Paris and their first experience on the Eurostar. In fact, I’m not sure if they enjoyed the Eurostar more than the long weekend in Paris, and if they could have, I’m sure they would have sent a postcard from the Eurostar too!
Paris Postcard - Louvre, with the iconic pyramid in front of the traditional building at sunset

I love this postcard of the Louvre, and photos always have such a romantic charm to them when taken at sunset. This one is no different, and it’s great how there are other landmarks in the background too.

Paris postcard - Notre Dame at dawn, looking peaceful with no tourists

Notre Dame, an absolute must! Although my parents visited the cathedral, they didn’t step inside and instead soaked up the views with a cuppa nearby. Paris postcard - Eiffel Tower, as seen from above

As the trip to Paris was for my dad’s 60th birthday, I tried to pre-book them tickets for the Eiffel Tower. I checked for tickets the day after they’d gone on sale, and they had all sold out. Unfortunately, standing in a queue for hours wasn’t top of their list and so they enjoyed the evening light show from the gardens instead. Paris postcard - Notre Dame, as seen from the Seine.

This postcard really reminds me of Palma Cathedral, and it’s not often that Notre Dame is seen from this angle, so I really love this one to see the cathedral from a different side.
