Copenhagen, Postcards

Postcards from…Copenhagen

After spending just 48 hours in the amazing city of Copenhagen, Denmark, I managed to see a fair number of the sights in the city. I picked up a few postcards from this trip, but I really like these two!

Of course I visited the Little Mermaid statue, despite reading numerous reviews of how underwhelming it is. I also took a boat bus, which meant I saw the stunning architecture along the river. This postcard is a great reminder of some of my favourite things about the city, if only I’d found a postcard for the places I ate at…

Nyhavn – the image most people have in their minds when they think of Copenhagen. It was a bit of a shock to the system when I realised not all of Copenhagen looks like this, and in fact the city is totally different to Amsterdam, which I’d imagined it to be like.

  1. Is there anything in particular you would recommend in Copenhagen? I’m going there next month and your post has made me look forward to it 🙂

    1. I’d definitely recommend a visit to Papiroen – great variety of food and at a decent price. While you’re over that way, Christiania is an interesting place to visit. The Round Tower is great for panoramic views, and Little Mermaid statue is a Copenhagen must. I also really loved Tivoli, which is the theme park there, and it’s quite cool to see it in the day and night if you can time it to be there in the evening. There are also a couple of castle/palaces which I’ll be going to next time I’m there as they seem quite popular. Hope you have a great time!
