Tenerife

Tenerife | Sun, Sea And Total Relaxation

The last time I ventured overseas for a week of relaxation was September 2014. While I’ve worked hard and been lucky to have a couple of breaks overseas since, it’s been far too long since I spent the day doing nothing by the pool. And I really enjoy lazying by the pool doing nothing.

And so I recently found myself booking a holiday to Tenerife, an island I have been to several times before. I did contemplate going elsewhere, but price, flight days and times, and the comfort of knowing where everything is in Tenerife led to me making the easy decision to return yet again.

While I love exploring and trying new things, sometimes I like to do absolutely nothing. And I don’t feel guilty doing just that in Tenerife because I’ve done most of the touristy things there. This year though, I made the decision that we’d hire a car and explore further afield. Doing a bit of research, I came to find some amazing things and places to see in Tenerife, and once we arrived it was always ‘we’ll hire the car tomorrow‘.

Shockingly  – not that shocking actually – we never did hire the car. Everything made us tired as it was so hot, and while we did venture out to explore Los Cristianos, we didn’t get much further. We’ve made the deal that if – or I should probably say when – we come back to Tenerife, we are going to hire a campervan for a week to see the island, then have a week to just chill out.

So while I may not have gotten out and about as much as intended in Tenerife, the break away served its purpose and I am feeling recharged and super motivated to get the most out of life. In the meantime, here are some of my favourite snaps from my time on the island!

  1. I’m going to tenerife in two weeks time and I can’t wait, like literally so so excited. i’ve been before but that was more of a day trip when my family stayed in Gran Canaria for a holiday. We had a day trip to Tenerife and everything was just squeezed in with not enough time at the touristy parts such as the Teide or the Loro Parque. So yeah so excited to spend more time this time 🙂
